Ship Modeing Forum - Photographic Catalog of the US Merchant Marine Academy

Welcome to the

Photographic Catalog of the US Merchant Marine Academy

United States Merchant Marine Academy - Kings Point, New York

This is not an official web site of the American Merchant Marine Museum, or of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. This is my personal catalog of the fine collection of marine art, ship models and nautical artifacts from the Merchant Marine Academy's "American Merchant Marine Museum" and from various locations through out the Academy grounds. John Guerin, Electrician and Model Shipwright - Electrical Services Unit, Department of Maintenance and Repair, USMMA.

Quote from a recent visitor - "I made another visit to the Merchant Marine Academy Museum at King's Point last Sunday and spent more time there than I had a chance to on my first visit. It's a wonderful place filled with interesting exhibits, not the least of which are the great ship models, both sail and steam. There is also one room of nothing but tugboat models and paintings. If ever there was a place to take a close look at the craft of professional model building this is it. Also enjoyed seeing two, or possibly three (one unsigned, but I'm sure it's a Jacobsen) paintings by Antonio Jacobsen I had never seen before." - Richard, Hudson Valley, NY
